Something new has been added. To see the first of my Shadow/Savage crossword puzzles click here. This is my first attempt at creating a crossword puzzle so don't expect much.
Wondering if the stories were actually written as opposed to the order published, would affect the first appearances, the number in which they were written is now incorporated into the novel's name. The number in brackets [] after the name is that number. So far I have found no inconsistencies.
Many new agents and things added to the index. This is due to having read Will Murray's The Duende History of The Shadow Magazine. This book is highly recommended.
Names and objects are now listed alphabetically (more or less) in sections Aliases, Agents and good guys, bad guys, things, and places.
Thanks to Michael Olson for finding a mention of Fritz, the janitor that I didn't get. It's now fixed. He (Fritz, not Michael] is in Hidden Death, #14
If you find any other mistakes let me know. It's nice to know that somebody is still going to my site. My address near the bottom of this pate.
These pages are dedicated to the memory of Walter Gibson, one
of the best of the writers from the pulp magazine era. If you only know of
The Shadow from the radio programs. I recommend reading one of the original
novels, especially the first one of the series: The Living Shadow.
You may become one of The Shadow's agents yourself. In the original stories
The Shadow had many more friends and agents than just Margo Lane, Shrevvie
the cab driver, and Commissioner Weston. He also had more aliases than just
Lamont Cranston. What was his real name? To find out, read the stories. This
is an attempt to identify all of the agents and friends (and a few archenemies)
who appeared in each of the stories, and where to find the novels to download
and read.
This index is created with programs written exclusively for this site.
THE NOVELS AND WHO'S IN THEM
WHERE THE AGENTS CAN BE FOUND
LISTINGS OF ALL OF THE NOVELS (regardless of availability)
ALL NOVELS in alphabetical order (For the sake of completeness, this also includes the Dennis Lynds stories from the mid-60's.)
Many thanks to John Olsen. http://spaceports.com/~deshadow
